"....here's the truth: when we practice being open and vulnerable, blessings flood our lives. Our hearts soar on the freedom of released burden. And soon, we don't have to practice anymore once we've learned to speak from our own meaningful truth. It is the biggest miracle in my life to learn this lesson over and over again. My very own vulnerabilities, once seen as my weaknesses, have turned out to be the greatest strength I've known." -Kelly Rae Roberts

"If I were called upon to state in a few words the essence of everything I was trying to say, it would be something like this: listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery that it is. In the boredom and pain of it no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it because in the last analysis, all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace." -Frederick Buechner
"It seems when we are paired with the person most perfect for us, the good parts of ourselves, the most liked pieces of our personalities seem to stay awhile longer, shine brightly, like glitter in the brilliance of moonlight. and you can never have enough shine, and brightness, and glitter. you just can't." -Kelly Rae Roberts
what in your life is calling you?
when all the noise is silenced,
the meetings adjourned, the lists laid aside,
and the wild iris blooms by itself in the dark forest,
what still pulls on your soul?
in the silence between your heartbeats hides a summons,
do you hear it?
name it, if you must, or leave it forever nameless,
but why pretend it is not there?

May our eyes remain open even in the face of tragedy.
May we not become disheartened.
May we find in the dissolution
of our apathy and denial,
the cup of the broken heart.
May we discover the gift of the fire burning
in the inner chamber of our being –
burning great and bright enough
to transform any poison.
May we offer the power of our sorrow to the service
of something greater than ourselves.
May our guilt not rise up to form
yet another defensive wall.
May the suffering purify and not paralyze us.
May we realize the greatness of our sorrow
and not run from its touch or flame.
May clarity be our ally and wisdom our support.
May our wrath be cleansing, cutting through
the confusion of denial and greed.
May we not be afraid to see or speak our truth.
May the bleakness of the wasteland be dispelled.
May the soul’s journey be revealed
and the true hunger fed.
May we be forgiven for what we have forgotten
and blessed with the remembrance
of who we really are.

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return." - Mary Jean Iron
